There can be few greater joys in life for a man than to have his loving family about him… I counted my blessings as I sat last night in my living-room with my wife of 23 years, and our nineteen year old daughter contentedly watching television with the cat on her lap… A happy, healthy young woman who has grown up in a stable home with supportive parents that worked hard to keep her at a good school… As usual I ran her to her place at one of Scotland's top universities today. Hail and hearty; she's had a sheltered upbringing and I hope she never has to deal with many of the world's horrors.
Mark McGivern has ascribed the names 'Karen'
and 'Jenny' to Mitchell's victims – not their real names of course because as the
victim of a sex crime they are of course entitled to lifelong anonymity…
"Karen’s life is blighted by flashbacks to
the abuse she endured and she has even attempted suicide."
Heartbreaking! Just heartbreaking… And how many others? 'Respectable' Mitch Mitchell with his shiny new cars,
frequent trips abroad, avid dog lover, keen canoeist, former serviceman… How
many other lives and families has he wrecked?
What
if I'd never caught on to Mitchell? - That could very easily have been my own
daughter…
There
but for the grace of God! And I'm
thankful to him for causing me to pick up the signs surrounding Mitch Mitchell
and sacking him from the RSL project when I did. As Daily Record Journalist, Mark McGivern burrows
into this case the horror just seems to get worse and worse…
And
for the record (no pun intended) and
in response to emails I've received today – Mark McGivern or anyone else with a
legitimate interest in seeing to it that The Kirknewton Nonce and his Moll are
exposed, is free to pick over the bones of the information I've 'put out there'
without further reference to me… I
require no attention or acknowledgement.
– In fact obscurity is a very good place from which to carry out this
type of work…
"Jenny was
aged between eight and 11 when he volunteered to take her for swimming lessons
and on drives in a country park between 1996 and 2000.
He also
locked her in the bedroom of his former Army home in Kirknewton, West Lothian ,
where he undressed her and filmed her – as he did other victims – using
advanced video equipment from his job as a cameraman."
Jenny,
whose parents lived south of the Border but frequently visited the Mitchells,
said she was disturbed to hear from other victims that her own abuse continued
after the whistle was blown in 1998."
"'SHE [Gill Mitchell] didn't seem too surprised to hear he was a paedophile,' says the father, who is
sure Hugh Mitchell's wife Gill knew about her husband's crimes."
No,
I suspect she wasn't at all surprised…
"The
dad said: 'I knocked on the door and he let me in. He was downstairs and she
was upstairs. I told him I knew what he had done and he admitted it.'
Then, the
dad recalled, Gill Mitchell was drawn into the confrontation, with a reaction
that horrified him. He said: “She came down the stairs saying, ‘Not the girls,
please not the girls.’ I’ll never forget it."
Again…
It can't possibly have been a surprise!
Mitchell had after all previously lost his job at a West Lothian School because he was leching at the little girls there… And I'm unsure whether this incident preceded my firing him from the West Lothian TV project in April or May of 1998, precisely because I had become upset and concerned by his behaviour… So concerned that I had reported my suspicions to Lothian and Borders Police…

Did the Police ever pay him a visit I wonder? And did Gill Mitchell also cover for him then? Is it possible the Police took the matter no further simply because the Mitchells presented a united - and apparently respectable - front?
" Karen said her father had come home and told the family about what happened at Mitchell’s house.
She said: “I was terrified because I thought he would kill him. He had trusted Mitchell with us and he just seemed like the perfect family friend.
“My dad came back and when he talked about it later he was very specific about what happened. He was very firm about Gill Mitchell coming down the stairs and saying, ‘Not the girls’.
“I found it the weirdest thing to say. I took it she half-expected to be hearing he was a pervert but she’d rather it hadn’t happened to girls she knew.
“All contact between my parents and the Mitchells ended. If Gill Mitchell was oblivious to what he had done, would she really have accepted that?'"
It's
unfortunate, though perfectly understandable, that 'Karen's' father did not go to the
Police. And I for one will tolerate no pervert-apologist trying to deflect and project guilt onto the man! He took that decision to protect
his daughters from the trauma of a trial; and I don't blame him. After all, accounts exist where toddlers have been
subjected to the cruellest of cross-examination by defence lawyers acting on
behalf of perverts...
But it is sickening that Gill Mitchell herself did not expose her web-footed (yes, really!) perverted freak of a spouse…
"Not the girls, please not the girls." Gill bleated...
As
if the gravity of this beast's crimes were in any way impacted by exactly which
girls her inhuman monster of a husband had sated his vile wants upon! - As I have pointed out previously, if I'd not caught onto Mitchell when I did my own daughter could very well have become one of his victims. - What of the other girls in the village? Those of his neigbours? Those in the local park where was often to be seen walking his dogs?
Karen
said…
“I think
Mitchell got off lightly. He should never be allowed out of jail because he
will never stop being a danger to young girls."
I
fear the young lady is right. And I
suspect many other victims of Hugh Mitchell are yet to emerge. And on that basis I would plead with them to
go to the Police now. For each
additional conviction should extend Mitchell's sentence; and ensure that he
never breathes to cool clean air of freedom again.
There
must be a God… And I'm thankful to him
for causing me to pick up the signs
surrounding Mitch Mitchell when I did. But I remain
angry…
Angry
at Lothian and Borders Police for apparently doing nothing with the information
I passed to them…
Angry
at the school he worked in for sweeping his perversion under the carpet…
And
Angry at Gill Mitchell MBE… Not, by any measure any kind of "victim"
in this…
As a resident of the same village in which Mitchell carried out his horrendous crimes I can tell you that his wife still
struts around the place as if she owns it... Walking her dogs without a
care in the world, and her MBE no doubt tucked safely away to remind
her of what a 'special' lady she is... A neck of pure brass!
An affront to the girls her husband was convicted of abusing, and an affront to the victims that are no-doubt still to come forward, whom the snotty cow would appear to imagine are lesser beings not worthy of her concern...
What's to be done? What can be done?
YOU,
personally, today, - no matter where you live in the UK can do something real to take a stand against
establishment-endorsed child abuse in your country....
YOU
can do it quietly and modestly and without seeking attention…
YOU
can lodge a formal complaint as to the conduct of Mrs Gillian Barbara Mitchell
MBE of Churchill Way Kirknewton, EH27 8AW - Pointing out that her conduct in
shielding her paedophile husband disgraces the honours system, and asking that
she be stripped of her MBE.
Please
consider what I have written here. – And
please do consider writing to the Honours Forfeiture Committee at:
